China International Folk Art Festival（CIFAF）, sponsored by China Federation of Literary and Art Circles (CFLAC), is a large-scale non-profit international folk art festival in China. Since its inauguration in 1990, CIFAF has enjoyed high popularity among the Chinese people and received much attention from the state leaders of Chinese government. Taking place every three years, CIFAF has been successfully held on ten occasions so far.

At the invitation of CFLAC, over 140 national troupes of folk song and dance from 59 counties consisting of more than 3000 artists have participated in CIFAF in nearly 30 cities in China. The performances are staged in gymnasiums, theatres, public squares and parks, factories, schools, rural areas and so on. Both elite professional performances and amateur gala performances demonstrate the art of folk songs and dances in diversified features from different countries, which are live broadcast by China Central Television (CCTV) and some local TV stations to the 1.3 billion Chinese people.

Those artists of great achievements in the field of folk arts are awarded with the Art Achievement Gold Cup of CIFAF. There are also the Art Friendship Cup to be awarded to those art troupes upon their performances at the festival. Thanks to the support of the Chinese government and the entire society as well as the active participation of the artists and art organizations from all over the world, CIFAF has become a constant success in persistence with its non-profit principle all the time.

The CIFAF is invariably permeated with joy and happiness, as every art troupe’s performance is of unique charm. Moreover, when the CIFAF comes to an end, those participant artists of different countries will find it hard to bid farewell to CIFAF as well as their new friends on the common stage, and cherish the memory of their stay in China. Encouraged by this moment, CFLAC has all the reasons and confidence to make CIFAF better in the future. With the significance of art exchanges between peoples and countries as consensus, CFLAC sincerely invites the international counterparts to support CIFAF as a way of joint contribution to the cultural development of humankind.
