18th China International Children's Film Festival opens in Zhejiang

  The 18th China International Children's Film Festival commenced on Thursday in Huzhou, Zhejiang Province.

  Centered around the theme "Protect Children's Dreams, Keep the Light of Peace," this year's festival offers a diverse program of activities. Highlights include screenings of outstanding Chinese and international children's films, seminars on VR film production, and a Future Film Technology VR Experience Exhibition. Children's filmmakers and experts from around the world, along with hundreds of young delegates, gathered in Zhejiang to take part in a cinematic celebration that merges global perspectives with the distinctive charm of Jiangnan culture.

  The domestic animated film "Nobody" received the "Special Recommendation for Chinese Animated Film of the Year" award, recognized for its unique artistic style and narrative that connects with today's children. "Qingtong and Kuihua," adapted from the novel of the same name by Hans Christian Andersen Award-winning author Cao Wenxuan, was honored with the "Special Committee Recommendation for Artistic Achievement."

  The festival also presented a selection of acclaimed children's films from around the world, spanning genres such as coming-of-age adventures, family bonds, campus life and fantasy. International jurors and producers from countries including Spain and Germany shared their visions for the future development of children's films.
