The second season of the China Short Video Conference – a large-scale seasonal integrated media program jointly launched by China Media Group (CMG), the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Zhejiang Provincial Committee, and the Hangzhou municipal government – premiered on October 12. It will air every Sunday and Monday at 9 p.m. on CMG's CCTV-3 channel, Yangshipin, and CCTV.com.
Under the theme "Short Videos Link Thousands of Industries," the show marks a strong return, bringing together 32 groups of "annual honor creators" chosen through public submissions and professional evaluation. It also features experts and industry leaders to explore new ideas and creative ways to connect short videos with various sectors, boosting Hangzhou's reputation as "China's city of short videos," fostering new high-quality productive forces, and energizing China's economic growth.
Driven by technological innovation and evolving audience demands, China's short video market continues to grow, offering increasingly diverse content formats. Some creators use AI to imagine the future and share knowledge, while others use music to capture everyday life and promote intangible cultural heritage. Some explore China's stunning landscapes through food, highlighting the country's rich beauty and cultural legacy. These interdisciplinary creations go beyond simple categories like science communication, culture, or food, adding more depth and meaning to the short video ecosystem.

The show unfolds in two phases. In the first phase, each episode features eight groups of "annual honor creators" who showcase outstanding short videos and share genuine stories of creativity and entrepreneurship that highlight the industry's diversity and energy. In the second phase, all 32 groups of creators participate in the themed challenge "see Hangzhou through short videos," presenting new stories about the city, revealing its industrial potential, and exploring the unlimited possibilities of short videos.
To further boost professionalism and industry influence, this season's jury system has been upgraded. Alongside experts and scholars in content, technology, and communication, the panel now includes pioneering entrepreneurs in the short video field. They assess works based on industrial empowerment, commercial potential, communication effectiveness, and cross-industry influence, helping creators refine their direction and innovate how short videos connect industries.
With its renewed vision and expanded collaboration, "China Short Video Conference" Season 2 continues to promote the development of China's short video industry toward higher quality, professionalism and global reach.
