Meanwhile, the 2nd U.S.-China Art Dialogue will be held along the sideline of the festival, seeing composer Du Yun's new musical theater piece "The Ocean Etched in the Forest," debut on Sunday evening. Composer Du Yun is a previous recipient of the Pulitzer Prize for Music, and a performing artist, who advocates for contemporary art.

This year's festival explores the dialogue and fusion between classical music and modern compositions, as well as between Eastern musical expressions and Western artistic forms.

The festival, which will run until October 24, will also see international artists make successive appearances with their new works, including the China Premiere of Opera "Wozzeck" by Alban Berg and Japanese rising star Hayato Sumino's Piano Recital, among a number of others.

What's more? The festival is expected to introduce the "Travel with Music" brand, creating a diverse "Music Festival+" scene to stimulate urban consumption vitality. It will collaborate with popular commercial districts, cultural and tourism venues, and "Beijing Gift" stores, while also partnering with hotels to offer "package products."
