  In Qufu, the birthplace of Confucius in eastern China's Shandong Province, the 20th UNESCO Confucius Prize for Literacy ceremony took place on Saturday night. This year's awards recognized three projects from Bangladesh, Ireland, and Morocco for their outstanding contributions to inclusive education.

  Founded 20 years ago, the UNESCO Confucius Prize for Literacy honors individuals and institutions that have made outstanding contributions to literacy, rural education, and the education of women and children. Its mission is not only to recognize achievements, but also to inspire more global attention toward vulnerable learners. As the first UNESCO prize named after a Chinese figure, the prize has so far recognized 57 projects from 36 countries.
