Russian media company chief promotes war-themed film in China
The Russian film “Blood Type,” a film about how orphans in the former Soviet Union were used as blood donors for wounded German soldiers during World War II, is scheduled to meet Chinese theatregoers on September 5.
At the film's premiere recently held in Beijing, Alexander Zharov, CEO of Gazprom-Media Holding, promoted this war-themed film. "Today, I am honored to present this film, which serves as a reminder of history and the victims of war crimes. The former Soviet Union emerged victorious over German fascist aggressors in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, while China defended its independence in the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression. The sacrifices made by our peoples should never be forgotten."

"Our mission is to convey a universal message to every viewer through three ‘Nevers:' never repeat the mistakes of history, never forget the heroic deeds of our ancestors, and never distort or tamper with historical truth," added the Russian media company chief.
Set against the backdrop of the 1937 Nanjing Massacre, the Chinese war film "Dead to Rights" will soon be screened in Russia, according to Alexander Zharov.
The Russian film's upcoming release in Chinese cinemas and the screening of the Chinese film soon in Russia mark another significant step in the cultural exchange between China and Russia, offering audiences in both countries an opportunity to delve deeper into each other's histories and their shared experiences during wartime.
