A Chinese music and arts festival is set to make its international debut in Singapore on September 13 to 14, marking a milestone in cultural exchange as China and Singapore celebrate 35 years of diplomatic relations in 2025.

Supported by the Singapore Tourism Board, the event will be held at Resorts World Sentosa and feature emerging artists from China, Singapore, South Korea, the United States, and other regions. The festival will combine live performances with curated cultural zones, food, retail, and entertainment to attract a young audience from across Asia.

The event taps into the growing trend of combining music festivals with tourism, a model gaining popularity in China. A 2024 report by the China Association of Performing Arts said that nearly 700,000 people attended the festival across its first 20 editions in northeastern and southeastern China. Between 45 and 55 percent of attendees were born after 2000, higher than the industry average, with over 70 percent of them traveling from other cities.

According to Chen Yunong, a partner at Sparkle Live Entertainment, the festival's organizer, the event aims to blend high-quality performances with global tourism resources to foster cross-cultural connections among Asian youth.

The Singapore debut underscores the deepening cultural ties that offer a broader platform for creative expression and regional collaboration.
