The 11th Nishan Forum on World Civilizations will be held on July 9 and 10 in Qufu City, east China's Shandong Province, local authorities announced on Friday.
The forum's theme has been set as "Beauty in Diversity: Nurturing Understanding Among Civilizations for Global Modernization," with six sub-topics of discussion, including the origin and future development of civilization, the global significance and contemporary value of Confucian culture and the beauty of maturity in the global modernization process.
Aligning with the United Nations-designated International Day for Dialogue Among Civilizations, which falls on June 10, the forum seeks to explore the ways of harmonious coexistence among different civilizations in the process of globalization, contributing Chinese wisdom to addressing global challenges and advancing human civilization.
The forum will be attended by over 400 experts and scholars from around the world, including more than 220 international scholars and over 180 domestic experts.
There will be two keynote speeches, four high-level dialogues, and eight breakout sessions centering around the main theme and sub-topics.
The upcoming forum is co-hosted by the People's Government of Shandong Province, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the International Confucian Association.
