Born in Fujian Province in 1955 and graduated from Oil Painting Department of China Academy of Art in 1982, XU Jiang is currently president of China Academy of Art (2001), vice president of CFLAC (2016) and vice president of China Artists Association (2003). 
　　XU Jiang has his works involved in National Exhibition of Fine Arts of China, China Oil Painting Exhibition, Beijing International Art Biennale and Shanghai Biennale as well as exchange exhibitions in Germany, France and Brazil (part won awards). He has organized such events as the 3rd Shanghai Biennale and China Sculpture Art Exhibition in his curatorship and published such works as Chess, Paper, Artistry—Selected Works by XU Jiang and SHI Hui and Back to Visual Sense—Concrete Expressional Painting Documentation. Acting as member of jury of the 3rd China Oil Painting Exhibition, chair of academic committee of the 9th Shanghai Biennale and chair of academic committee of the 1st China Oil Painting Biennale, XU Jiang has held his personal exhibitions in Beijing, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Guangdong and Taiwan as well as such foreign country as Germany.
