Born in Yuncheng City of Shanxi Province and graduated from Chinese Literature Major of Chinese Literature and Language Department of Shanxi Normal University, ZHANG Ping is currently Class-A writer, bachelor of literature and vice president of CFLAC (2016).
ZHANG Ping started his career in October 1971, began to issue his works in 1981 and became a member of China Writers Association in 1985. Among his literary works of over 6 million characters in total, his representative works are novels Net of Justice (winner of the 6th Zhuang Chongwen Literature Award), Hard Choice (winner of the 5th Maodun Literature Award), and Ambush on All Sides (winner of China Books Award and 1st Prize of Golden Shield Literature Awards), collection of short stories Elder Sister (winner of the 7th National Excellent Short Story Award) and Hazy Evening, reportage Orphans’ Tears and prose collection I can Tell the Truth Only. Conferred with the honors of National Literary and Art Worker of both High Artistry and Lofty Virtue and Supreme Working Model, ZHANG Ping enjoys a special expert subsidy from the State Council of China.
