Born in Harbin City of Heilongjiang Province in 1953 and graduated from News Department of Beijing Broadcast College (former of Communication University of China), HU Zhanfan is currently a senior editor, vice president of CFLAC (2016) and president of China TV Artists Association (2017).
HU Zhanfan used to be vice president of China National Radio, editor-in-chief of Guangming Daily and president of China Central Television (CCTV). With his prose collection Mood with the Internet, chief drafts of narration for the TV programs Recital of Masterpiece Poetry in Tang and Song Dynasties and Recital of Classic Masterpieces, HU Zhanfan has issued over 200 pieces of prose and essay. His reportage After the Rising of Flame, essays Wipe out Formalism and Never Worship Money won the 1st Prize of China News Awards respectively in 1987, 1992 and 1993. His essay Wait in Queue was once published in Europe Times in France.
