Born in Shanghai in 1955 and graduated from Acting Department of Shanghai Theatre Academy, XI Meijuan is an actress in drama, film and TV, vice president of CFLAC (2011) and vice president of China Film Association (1998).
In 1988, XI Meijuan won China Theatre Plum Blossom Award and Excellent Actress Award of China Drama Golden Lion Award with her role in the first Chinese free-hand drama Chinese Dream. In 1990, she won the Best Actress Award of the 11th China Film Golden Rooster Awards with her virgin film Faked Daughter in True Feelings. In 1997, XI Meijuan won the Best Actress Award of the 17th China Film Golden Rooster Awards with the film A Tree and Excellent Actress Award of the 21st China TV Drama Flying Aspara Awards with the play Red Carnation. In 2017, XI Meijuan won the Golden Angel Outstanding Achievement Award of the 13th China-America Film Festival.
