Born in Beijing in 1953, PU Cunxin is currently a State Class-A actor, vice president of CFLAC (2016) and president of China Theatre Association (2015).
In 1977 PU Cunxin was admitted into Drama Troupe of Air Force and in 1987 into Beijing People’s Art Theatre. His leading representative dramas are Thunderstorm, Tea House, Poet LI Bai (winner of Excellent Actor Award of the 2nd China Theatre Golden Lion Awards, the 9th China Theatre Plum Blossom Award and the 3rd Wenhua Acting Award), Proud Son of God (winner of the 7th Wenhua Acting Award and the 19th China Theatre Plum Blossom Award). His representative films are Bell of Purity Temple, Bath (winner of the Most Favorite Actor Award in the 7th Beijing University Students’ Film Festival, Legend of LI Shutong (winner of Excellent Actor Award of the 11th China Film Huabiao Awards), and his famous TV dramas are Head of Public Security Bureau and Journey of Glory (winner of Most Favorite Actor Award of the 19th China TV Golden Eagle Awards). In 2002, PU Cunxin was elected as one of the Top 10 Touching China Figures.
