China tourism year in Kazakhstan kicks off
The opening ceremony of the China tourism year in Kazakhstan was held on Monday at the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with around 300 guests from both China and Kazakhstan attending the event.
Sun Yeli, Chinese Minister of Culture and Tourism, and Yermek Marzhikpayev, Kazakh Minister of Tourism and Sports, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.
As one of the key events of the China tourism year in Kazakhstan, an exhibition titled "Silk and the Silk Road: From China to Kazakhstan" also opened on the same day at the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The exhibition consists of three sections: "Origin of Silk," "Road of Silk" and "Use of Silk." It aims to showcase the historical depth and development of Silk Road culture, and to highlight the friendly exchanges and cultural integration between China and countries along the Silk Road. The exhibition will run until August 8.
The opening ceremony also featured cultural performances, a Hanfu fashion show, and intangible cultural heritage experiences. In addition, the China National Silk Museum and the National Museum of Kazakhstan signed a memorandum of cooperation.
