'Ne Zha 2' becomes China's highest ever grossing film

  According to data from movie data platform Beacon Pro, as of 2:30 p.m. Beijing Time on February 12, "Ne Zha 2" has garnered 9.279 billion yuan (around $1.29 billion) including pre-sales, making it the first film in Chinese cinema history to surpass the 9 billion yuan mark. The movie is currently ranked 5th on the global animated film charts and 24th on the global box office charts. 

  "Ne Zha 2" recently premiered in the United States and is set for official release on February 14. The film has generated immense anticipation, with pre-sale screenings boasting over 90 percent occupancy rates and many popular screenings selling out in advance.

  Outside of North America, the film is scheduled for release on February 13 in Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and Papua New Guinea, with additional releases planned in the countries including Singapore, Malaysia, Egypt, South Africa, Pakistan, Japan, and South Korea.
