In 2005, a beautiful song named “Xinjiang is a Wonderful Place” was widely heard across China. “To both the north and south of the Tianshan Mountains you can see lush pasture; The Gobi Desert has been turned into fertile fields with melted snow irrigating farms...” The lyrics offer a true picture of Xinjiang.
In the 21st century and over this land accounting for 1/6 territory of China, the 25.85 million Xinjiang people have won a complete victory against poverty and made the historic achievement of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects. Standing over the top of Tianshan Mountains, one can have a beautiful panorama of drifting clouds, magnificent twilight and boundless forests below. The land of Xinjiang presents a vibrant view of prosperity.
Long attracted and with true affections, Chinese photographers have taken a large number of photos that capture the essence of Xinjiang. In this exhibition, 79 well-selected photos are divided into four themes, i.e., Pomegranate Blossoms, On the Road to Prosperity, Magnificent Scenery and A Better Life, showing the dramatic development of Xinjiang in recent years as well as the well-off life of the people there from multiple ethnic groups.
