Since the policy of reform and opening up was adopted in 1978, China has witnessed rapid economic development, steady improvement of people’s living standards, and accelerating urbanization. Beautiful cities have boomed with advanced infrastructure and facilities, pleasant natural environment and cultural atmosphere, all of which have endowed those cities with a unique charm. The rapid development of those cities has demonstrated harmonious development with Chinese characteristics.
